Apprenticeships

Go East Anglia takes on apprentices every year at both our bus companies -Hedingham and Chambers in Essex and Suffolk and Konectbus in Norfolk

There are Engineering placements available, both of which involve a combination of theoretical and practical learning within our teams, and you can earn as you learn!

Apprentice engineers 

At Hedingham and Chambers, we offer engineering placements at our depots in Sudbury. 

As an apprentice, you will work towards your MechElec Bus & Coach (NVQ Level 3), learning practical skills as well as theory, and earning money all at the same time.  

The course will cover a wide range of topics range from replacing simple parts through to solving complex faults with the use of diagnostic methods and equipment. 

Where:  

Your practical training will take place at our bus depot on Meekings Way, Chilton Industrial Estate. Sudbury 

Your theory training will take place on the Stephenson Campus at the SMB College in Bristol.  

You will attend college up to every 6 weeks and we will cover your accommodation and travel during your time spent there.  

Your placement with us begins at the start of each academic year and last for 3 years.  

What qualifications do you need:  

GCSE Grade 9 – 5 in Maths and English and a job in the sector in which you have the contract of employment.  

You must have strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn. You must be able to work independently but also operate as an effective team member.

Aged over 18 (still in the first year of your apprenticeship)
