A New Journey Begins: Hedingham & Chambers to rebrand as Konectbuses

For years, we’ve been proud to serve you as Hedingham & District Omnibuses and H C Chambers & Sons. The road hasn’t always been smooth, but a new chapter is on the horizon - one built on a promise to deliver a better, more reliable service for our communities.

From June, we’re rebranding as Konectbuses. This fresh new name comes with a bold, modern look and a renewed commitment to serving you.

Our newly designed buses will be hitting the roads soon, and we’re more dedicated than ever to ensuring your journey is smooth, comfortable, and reliable. This commitment is backed by plans to introduce refurbished and newer buses over the coming months, alongside extensive service improvements across the network.

You’ll also notice changes to our website and app, updated to reflect the new branding and ensure a seamless experience for you, our valued passengers.

A United Future

As part of this transformation, Go East Anglia will unify three local brands under the Konectbus name, creating consistency across the business. This move will foster a sense of unity and pride among our colleagues, bringing everyone together as one team.

The Hedingham and Chambers brands will gradually phase out. All operations will continue, with depots remaining in Suffolk (Sudbury) and Essex (Clacton, Kelvedon, and Sible Hedingham). To help avoid confusion caused by overlapping route numbers within the East Anglian network, local branding will adapt to Konectbus Norfolk and Konectbuses Essex and Suffolk.

A Fresh Look, and a renewed commitment to delivering a better service

All buses will transition to the Konectbus blue design, featuring a modernised logo and branding. Alongside this, we’ll introduce refurbished cascaded buses and newer vehicles into the fleet over the midterm. Every depot will be rebranded, and our passenger communication channels - including websites and apps - will reflect the new look.

While the external branding is changing, our internal identity as Go East Anglia will remain. This ensures we continue to celebrate our Go-Ahead Group ownership and maintain the core values that drive our business.

What’s Next?

In June, Konectbuses will begin rolling out its new branding across Essex, supporting planned network changes in Clacton-on-Sea and continuing across our wider Essex and Suffolk routes. This rebrand is about more than a new look - it’s about providing a more reliable, efficient, and enjoyable bus service for you.

This will coincide with extensive network changes and service improvements, which will be shared closer to the time.

Managing Director Rupert Cox shared his excitement for the future:

Rupert Cox, MD

“2025 will be an exciting year for Go East Anglia as we implement many improvements for customers and colleagues. There is a lot of pride amongst the local team in delivering a better bus service, and we’re already seeing the result of significantly enhanced reliability. The new branding is one part of how we’ll elevate the company, alongside investment in more and better buses, a new uniform for colleagues, and a better customer experience.”

We can’t wait to show you what’s next. Stay tuned - the journey continues… and it’s only getting better!
