753 Sudbury-Lavenham-Bury St Edmunds
The 753 connects the market towns of Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds with a beautiful route through the rural Suffolk countryside. Both towns are seeped in history and continue to hold popular weekly markets attended by many local businesses. This route is not only abundant with nature - it boasts many cultural attractions as well! In Sudbury, the Arts Centre, which is housed in a striking Medieval Church in the town centre, prides itself on providing a welcoming and inclusive cultural space for all, and in Bury St Edmunds, the Theatre Royal offers a wide range of music, theatre and comedy to suit every taste. The recent late-evening and Sunday journeys have enhanced the route, meaning that visitors and residents have even further scope to take a weekend trip or watch a show or film without having to worry about parking or driving home. Other hidden gems can be found in the quaint village of Lavenham, which was featured as Godric’s Hollow in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Its Guildhall is also a must-see; owned by the National Trust, it is over 500 years old and is bursting with information about the colourful history of the village. The 753 is a truly breathtaking route which will appeal to nature, culture and history enthusiasts alike!
63 Colchester-West Mersea Island
The 63 from Colchester to West Mersea island offers the perfect combination of city and seaside. The route takes you through Colchester High Street, which is the oldest high street in Britain, dating back 2000 years to Roman times, before traversing The Strood, the causeway which connects Mersea Island to the mainland. Crossing The Strood onboard a double-decker gives passengers a grandstand view of the estuary, capturing the magic of the island which is cut off by the tide twice a day. On arrival at the beach, visitors are met with an expanse of golden stand and pretty pastel beach huts, offering a tranquil retreat for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of seaside attractions. Although there are not many public conveniences on the island, this adds to its appeal as a coastal hideaway, perfect for walking, reading and relaxation. It is also a great location for seafood-lovers with many restaurants specialising in oysters which have been cultivated in the creeks across the island since Roman times.
97/98 Walton on the Naze-Clacton on Sea

Whilst in the town, passengers can visit the Naze Tower, which stands at 86 feet and offers stunning views of the landscape, a museum and café. The beach itself is picturesque, featuring tiered rows of multi-coloured beach huts, fine golden sand and a lengthy pier with a 5-acre amusement park at its entrance. On return to Clacton, children will be kept amused for hours at the attractions offered by the Pier and Pavilion, and there’s a wide range of restaurants and bars where you can watch the beautiful summer sunsets.
