2025 Fares

From January 2025, the UK Government’s cap on most adult single fares will rise from £2 to £3. Despite this increase, Hedingham and Chambers will continue to provide exceptional value across its range of fares and ticket options.

Simplified Ticket Options for Every Traveller

Hedingham and Chambers has streamlined its ticket categories to make travel simpler and more affordable. Passengers can now choose from:

  • Adult
  • Young Persons (for those aged 5-19, under 5’s travel free)
  • Groups (ideal for families or friends travelling together)
  • University Students
  • School & College Students

With options ranging from single and day tickets to group and zonal passes, there’s a fare to suit everyone. Concessionary fares remain available for eligible travellers.

Big Savings on Day and Group Tickets

  • Group Tickets: Previously called Family Tickets, these now cover groups of up to five people (including at least one and no more than two adults aged 19+), providing great savings for families and friends travelling together.
  • Day Tickets: Day tickets, replacing many return tickets, offer better value than purchasing two singles - even under the new £3 fare cap.

Affordable Fares for Short and Mid-Hop Journeys

  • Short Journeys: Trips such as Clacton Pier Avenue to Clacton Rail Station will cost just £1.50 for adults, with young person’s paying £1.20.
  • Mid-Hop Journeys: A flat fare of £2.50 will apply for travel across zones like Clacton Rocks or Seasiders, with young person’s paying £2. Longer journeys will remain capped at £3 for adult single fares.

Better Value for Young Passengers

The new Young Persons ticket combines the Child and 16-to-19 categories, offering greater value for those travelling to school, college, work, or to meet friends.

Concessionary Travel

Concessionary bus pass holders can travel for no more than £2.50 before 9:00 am (or 9:30 am in Suffolk) on weekdays.

Convenient Ticket Bundles and Subscriptions

  • Bundles: A new bundle of 10 x £3 single tickets will be available exclusively on the app. Passengers are encouraged to use any remaining £2 ticket bundles before they expire at the end of the year.
  • Weekly & 30-Day Tickets: These tickets will still be available on the app, making subscription options a convenient and cost-effective way to budget for regular travel.

Discontinued Ticket Types

From 1 January 2025, the following tickets will no longer be offered:

  • Adult Weekly point-to-point
  • Family return point-to-point
  • Walton and Clacton Zone

Young Persons’ Weekly Tickets will remain available on many routes, and Frinton Faresaver tickets will be available exclusively via the app.
