Halloween is just around the corner and if you're looking for some bone-chilling fun during the half-term break, Essex and Suffolk have a ghostly treat in store for you! From ghoulish costume parades to enchanted castle tours and bewitching workshops, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

And what's more, we encourage you to leave the broomsticks at home and hop on a bus to make your way to these spooktacular events.

Colchester Castle Museum - Crazy Costume Parade

When: 23 October – 27 October, 10am – 5pm

Where: Colchester Castle Museum, Colchester

High Woods Halloween Family Self-Guided Trail

When: 23 – 29 October

Where: Colchester

Embark on a family-friendly Halloween adventure in the enchanting High Woods. A self-guided trail offers you the opportunity to explore the spooky woods, solve riddles and discover hidden treasures. Hop on a bus to Colchester and step into a world of mystery and intrigue.

 

Halloween Workshop at West Cliff Theatre

When: 23 Oct – 25 Oct, 10am – 4pm

Where: Clacton-on-Sea

The West Cliff Creative Team have their annual Halloween workshop, offering plenty of fun, including games, confidence-building exercises, and a special show for parents/guardians on Wednesday, making it the perfect Spooktacular experience for budding stars aged 6-12.

 

Clacton Pier Halloween Festival

When: October Half Term 

Where: Clacton-on-Sea

Clacton Pier's Halloween festival offers a cauldron of spooktacular fun with plenty to do, so don't be a scaredy-cat just get there by bus – there will be some frightfully good food to sink your teeth into too

 

Brightworth's School of Magic

When: 22 October – 26 October, 11am – 4pm

Where: Hedingham Castle

Magic and mystery await at Hedingham Castle during half term. Learn the secrets of wizardry at Brightworth's School of Magic. Take the bus to Hedingham Castle and let your little ones become a student of the mystical arts.
