Santa Bus Spreads Christmas Cheer While Supporting Clacton Food Bank
1 month ago
The Santa Bus delighted families in Clacton and Jaywick last night, bringing festive fun, carols, and a sprinkle of Christmas magic. Santa and his elves met excited children and their parents at bus stops along Route 4, from Clacton’s Pier Avenue to Martello Beach Park and back.
Earlier in the day, the Santa Bus was officially unveiled by Councillor Ivan Henderson, who was on hand to mark the start of this year’s festivities. With Santa by his side, the councillor cut a ribbon to officially launch Santa Bus 2024.
In the evening, the festive bus tour created joyful memories as families snapped selfies with Santa, sang along to carols, and embraced the Yuletide spirit. Among the delighted onlookers was a very special four-legged guest: Alfie, the Maine Coon cat, who arrived in his pushchair to meet Santa and soak up the festive atmosphere. Alfie’s appearance was a highlight of the night, bringing smiles to children and adults alike.
Meanwhile, Santa’s team of elves collected generous donations of money and non-perishable food items to support the vital work of the Clacton Food Bank, helping local families in need this Christmas.
Davina Langley, Head of Commercial and Marketing for Go East Anglia - also known as Chief Elf - shared her thoughts on the event:
“What a fantastic evening we had bringing joy to Clacton and Jaywick! Christmas is such a special time of year, and it’s been heartwarming to see so many families come together to celebrate. Not only did we spread festive cheer, but thanks to the incredible generosity of the community, we’ve also been able to support the vital work of the Clacton Food Bank.”
With the evening’s success behind them, Santa and his elves have now returned to the North Pole, counting down the days until Christmas!
